Thoughts on philoSOPHIA 2011: Intro

philoSOPHIA is always one of my favorite conferences. It’s full of amazing people doing amazing work, and it’s small enough to have productive, meaningful exchanges. In order to continue some of these exchanges, and to hopefully bring in some new interlocutors and new ideas, I’m posting some of the things I’m continuing to think about. These observations are in no particular order other than the relatively chronological order of my notes. I’ll be doing a series of individual posts, each responding to/inspired by a particular paper or panel. And, I know, it’s been almost a whole month since the conference, but better late than never!

It goes without saying that any mistakes are mine and mine only, and if I’m misrepresenting your argument, or if I’ve misunderstood it, my apologies!
